Life as it is With Asperger's

Our 4th session with children who have Asperger's raised some of the issues that children really struggle with. The participants were asked to bring 5 photos of "The Challenges We Face" and although they reported finding it difficult, all managed to bring photos which conveyed some of the many daunting things they face such as participating in team sports, how to get to music lessons when you can't tell the time and coping with bullying. Some of the children identified the importance of attending school but many find it challenging. At least some of the children were able to identify particular teachers who they have found to be helpful. Next week we are inviting children to problem solve by bringing photos which describe what they would change if they had super-human powers.
